The Regulatory Council of D.O. Monterrei has just received the visit of 21 journalists from the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Ireland and Sweden, who have known the characteristics of the territory as well as its wine potential.
During the visit they received information about varieties, soil and climate aspects, production and history of the denomination. They also took part in a wine tunnel at the headquarters of the entity where they had the opportunity to meet whites and reds from the following wineries: Trasdovento, Pazo das Tapias, Alejandro Ramón Blanco Dijkhoff (Ramón Bigotes), Ladairo, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Vía Arxéntea, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo), Fragas do Lecer, Franco Basalo, Gargalo, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), José Luis Mateo García (Quinta da Muradella), Manuel Vázquez Losada, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Quinta do Buble, Terras do Cigarrón and Triay.
This initiative is part of the #ASharedPassion project, carried out by both the Spanish Union of Tasters (UEC) and OIVE (Interprofessional Organization of Wine in Spain), and aims to enhance the knowledge and visibility of Spain as a wine country among reference communicators of the European Union. The journalists who participated in this visit were Priya Badeloe, Paulina Bandura, Cornelia Becker, Felix Bodmann, Daniel Bruce, Laoise Dempsey, Nadien de Visser, Michael Kardienaal, Harmke Kraak, Konrad Krysowaty, Ingrid Larmoyeur, Anna Levdonskaia, Inma Muñoz, Fanni Piskor, Sinead Smyth, Jelle Stelpstra, Maciej Świetlik, Sue Tolson, Kazumi Uejo, Klazien Vermeer and John Wilson.
