The wines from six wineries registered in the Regulatory Board of D.O. Monterrei have been part of the tasting directed by the Master of Wine Pedro Ballesteros, and driven by ACRUAGA (Asociación de CC.RR. Vitivinícolas Gallegos y de las II.GG. Aguardientes y Licores Tradicionales de Galicia).
In this initiative, in which Ballesteros was accompanied by Miguel López, technical director of C.R.D.O. Monterrei, thirteen wines of the designation, nine whites and four reds, were sampled blind from the wineries participating in this activity: Triay, Castro de Lobarzán, José Luis Mateo García (Quinta da Muradella), Trasdovento, Vía Arxéntea and Manuel Vázquez Losada.
The results will form part of the Spanish Reports of the Club Oenologique by 2025. A summary of the report will be published in the prestigious print magazine Club Oenologique, and it can also be consulted online. Club Oenologique is a prestigious platform that includes a magazine, a digital platform and exclusive events. And this time, the report presented by Pedro Ballesteros is aimed at consumers of high-end wines, so it will be highlighted in the collection section of the website.
“This activity is a unique opportunity to project the excellence of Monterrei wines in the global market, and having Pedro Ballesteros tasting and valuing our wines is a great opportunity to show the richness and potential of the denomination.”, highlights the president of the entity, Manuel Vázquez.
The C.R.D.O. Monterrei will continue to work, throughout 2025, in national and international promotional actions aimed at positioning its wines as references of quality and prestige.
