The Regulatory Council, within its program of promotional actions for 2024, has just promoted the visit of five prescribers to the wine territory of Monterrei.
In the last two days, Alberto Zapata Rodríguez (director of ‘Dichosa Cocina’ of RTVE), Ana Eugenia Gómez González (content editor of Bodeboca), Cristina Villar Martín (enoturismo manager of VinoSelección), José Antonio Muñoz Coromina (director/editor of the magazine Traveling) and Laura López Altares (editor of the magazine MiVino) have been part of many activities related to viticulture and wine.
Among them are the visit to the rock press Xan Preto, as well as three wine tunnels (‘Valles’, ‘Añadas eméritas’ and ‘Variedades’). In addition, these specialized journalists have visited five wineries of the denomination (Ladairo, Gargalo, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay and Daniel Fernández), where they have known their vineyards, facilities and their most representative wines. This program has also had complementary activities such as the visit to the acropolis of Monterrei.
“The participants in this initiative have had the opportunity to discover, in situ, the tradition and wine culture of Monterrei, climatic characteristics, terroir, wine typologies and the work of five wineries registered in our protected area”, highlights President Jonatás Gago. “The organization of this type of activities allows to show the Monterrei product in a complete way, from the vine to the glass, teaching first-hand the work of winemakers and winemakers, the history of viticulture in the region and the result of all this, the wine of the D.O. Monterrei”.
