The last promotional activity of the D.O. Monterrei, held in Asturias, has had a hundred professionals from all over the province.
Over a period of four hours, and in addition to the hygienic and sanitary measures required, members of the catering and hospitality sector, sommeliers or distributors, among others, have become aware of the peculiarities of this Galician wine denomination. Among those attending the Wine Tunnel of the D.O. Monterrei in Asturias was the sommelier Alberto Ruiz of the restaurant Arbidel de Ribadesella, representatives of the restaurants Del Arco (Oviedo), El Rincón de Adi (Oviedo), El Foralín (Oviedo), La Guarnicionería (Cangas de Onís), Punto & Coma (Lugones), La Cantina de Gascona (Oviedo), Cuatro Vientos (Avilés), Al Baile La Temprana (Oviedo) or Casa Topete (Piedras Blancas); as well as distribution managers Moutas, Taranco or the blogger Sibaritastur.
Also, participants in this initiative of the D.O. Monterrei have been able to taste the reds and whites of the following wineries: Ladairo, Pazos del Rey, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), José Luis Gómez Ibáñez, Crego e Monaguillo, Quinta do Buble, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay Adegas de Oímbra, Terrae Monterrei, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo (Vía Arxéntea), Abeledos, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Franco Basalo, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo) and Manuel Vázquez Losada.
This initiative is part of the cycle of promotional actions carried out by the denomination for this 2021, which has allowed the wines of Monterrei to have reached cities such as Madrid, Alicante, Santander, Santiago de Compostela or A Coruña. “Before the end of August we wanted to carry out such an activity in Asturias, a nearby market, which always welcomes us with open arms, and which has allowed us to show our product, first hand, to the catering, hospitality and distribution sector, in order not only to strengthen our presence in this market but to open new marketing channels for our wineries, “said the president of the C.R.D.O. Monterrei, Lara Da Silva. “Of course, the fact that we were able to bring together professionals from all over Asturias has been a success, and we left satisfied to have shown, once again, the greatness of Monterrei”.
