The latest promotional activity of the D.O. Monterrei, held in the city of Ferrol, has brought together more than seventy attendees from the catering, hospitality and distribution sector.
This Wine Tunnel of the D.O. Monterrei, made in the Torrente Ballester Center, has had the participation of sommeliers, responsible for establishments and distribution channel such as O Bacoriño, El Camiño do Inglés, Mesón Picasso, Illas Gabeiras, Mesón Alfonso, Restaurante Nautilus, Mesón Ourra, Vinoselección, Distribuidores Rivas, Distribuciones Almacenes Orense, Distribuidores JM or Janel Distribuciones, among others.
All of them have received information about history and wine culture of Monterrei, grape varieties, soil and climate characteristics or different wine typologies. In addition, 21 wineries of the denomination have been able to produce: Ladairo, Pazos del Rey, Pazo das Tapias, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), José Luis Gómez Ibáñez (Valderello), Crego e Monaguillo, Quinta do Buble, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay Adegas de Oímbra, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo (Vía Arxéntea), Abeledos, Tabú, Franco Basalo, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo) and Manuel Vázquez Losada.
This initiative is part of the cycle of promotional actions carried out by the denomination for this year, and has already allowed Monterrei wines to travel to San Sebastian, Oviedo, Santiago de Compostela, Santander or Madrid, among other cities. “Ferrol is one of our fixed destinations in the calendar, and this year we had to return to this city, not only to thank the work of all those who have continued to bet on Monterrei at their tables, but also to show that the commitment to quality is the maxim that our winegrowers and winemakers follow, and therefore our whites and reds are always a guarantee of success, “stresses the president of the C.R.D.O.
