The Denomination of Origin Monterrei has concluded its participation in ‘ Espai Verema Valencia’, with a successful attendance of public to the space of the same.
Throughout the day, more than a hundred attendees came to the area of Monterrei to discover the typologies of wines, soil and climate characteristics, grape varieties, history and wine heritage; in addition to tasting the reds and whites of the following wineries of the denomination: Ladairo, Pazos del Rey, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, Crego e Monaguillo, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay Adegas de Oímbra, Terrae Monterrei (Adegas Terrae), Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo (Vía Arxéntea), Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo) and Manuel Vázquez Losada.
Among those attending the space of Monterrei were representatives of Federación de Sumilleres de la Comunidad Valenciana (FASCV), Asociación Valenciana de Sumilleres (ASVASU), Federación de Hostelería de la Comunidad Valenciana, Federación Empresarial Hostelería de Valencia (FEHV), CdT Valencia (Centro de Turismo de la GV), Escuela de Viticultura y Enología de Requena, Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agrónoma y del Medio Natural (UPV), Grado en Ciencias Gastronómicas de la UV, as well as partners from Verema, among others.
It is the first event in Verema in which D.O. Monterrei participates in this year, “and the participation in it forms an important showcase to show wines to a wide range of public, from the catering and hospitality sector, distribution,… to the final consumer”, points out the president of the Regulatory Council, Lara Da Silva, “and not only the commercial brands of our wineries, but we have also noticed a growing interest in the Designation of Origin as such in less worked cities, which congratulates us and highlights the need to continue promoting us beyond the markets that are usually comfortable for us”. “I think this year’s schedule will be tight, with a lot of work, but we also hope that it will be profitable for everyone. Today more than ever talking about profitability for the primary sector is essential,” she concludes.
