The latest promotional activity of the D.O. Monterrei, held in A Coruña, has had more than a hundred professionals from all over the province.
During four sessions, and in addition to the hygienic and sanitary measures required, members of the catering and hospitality sector, sommeliers or distributors, among others, have known the peculiarities of this Galician wine denomination. In this initiative they received information on the characteristics of soil and climate, grape varieties, wine typologies or importance of viticulture in the history and economy of the region.
Among those attending the Wine Tunnel of the D.O. Monterrei in A Coruña were sommeliers Carlos Santos (de Makro), Marcos Eire Fernández (Árbore da Veira *Michelín), José Luis Cao (Restaurante Divino), Natalia Cid (Grupo Montesquiero), Jacobo Semin (Pulpería Muíño Vello), Eduin Ignacio Vallejo (Taberna Contemporánea EME), Antía Arance (Casa Paquita), Cecilia Fabro (Argentina) or Jorge Cajete (Vinoteca O Carro), among others. As well as Francisco Santiso (export manager Singular Galician Cellars), Marta Juega Rivera (Delegate of purchase o Alliance Wine), Fernando Estévez (manager of the group Cafeterías Herculinas), Manuel Corralero (Distribuciones Pfiema), Jesús López (Crianza Distribución), Iria Taboda (tienda de vinos O Trasno), Daniel Vázquez (Licores Rivas), representatives Hotel Exe 4*, Pazo de Vilaboa, Central Park, Roots, O Burato, etc.
Also, participants in this initiative of the D.O. Monterrei have been able to taste the reds and whites of the following wineries: Ladairo, Pazos del Rey, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), Crego e Monaguillo, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay Adegas de Oímbra, Terrae Monterrei, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo (Vía Arxéntea), Tabú, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo) and Manuel Vázquez Losada.
This initiative is part of the cycle of promotional actions carried out by the denomination for this 2021, which will allow the wines of Monterrei to visit different cities of the country. “These last two actions are showing us how important it is to recover the promotion face to face, to present our product to the prescribers, to bring the peculiarities of our wine territory closer to them, and to serve as a marketing shuttle to our associates”, acknowledges the president of C.R.D.O. Monterrei, Lara Da Silva.
