The Denomination of Origin Monterrei has ended its participation in ‘Experience Verema Malaga’, with a successful attendance of participants to the space of the same.
Throughout the day, more than a hundred people came to the area of Monterrei to discover the typologies of wines, soil and climate characteristics, grape varieties, history and wine heritage; in addition to being able to taste the reds and whites of the following wineries of the denomination: Ladairo, Pazo das Tapias, Gargalo, José Antonio Da Silva Pereira (Vinos Lara), Crego e Monaguillo, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay, Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo (Vía Arxéntea), Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Franco Basalo, Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo and Manuel Regueiro García (Serra de Alén).
Among those who visited the Monterrei space were members of El Mesón de Cervantes, Grupo Trocadero, Tercer Acto, Tragabuches (Dani García), Doña Inés, La Navilla, La Bobadilla, Cávala, Sollo, Los Patios de Beatas, Vinoteca Bouquet, Narbona, Vinalium, and the restaurants LOLA (Hotel Only You), Araboka, Ta Kumi, Carmen (Hotel only You), Jose Carlos García, Óleo, Kava, Palodú or El Pimpi, among others.
On the other hand, the CESMA (Centro de Estudios Superiores de Hostelería de Málaga) hosted the seminar “Origen del vino, D.O. Monterrei. Puertas de Galicia”, which has been present a dozen teachers/ as and students/ same, and has allowed to show them the peculiarities of this wine territory.
“This is the first event in Verema in which the denomination participates in 2024, and it is an excellent opportunity to teach the product ‘Monterrei’ to both the final consumer and the distribution sector, sommelier, restaurant or hospitality”, says the president of the Regulatory Council, Jonatás Gago García.
