The Designation of Origin Monterrei has again joined the celebration of the Day Movement Wine D.O., which as in the year 2020, has been made in online format.
To this end, a virtual toast has been promoted to which have added wineries, members of the Tasting Panel, technical staff and the president of the C.R.D.O. Monterrei, in order to claim the importance of wine with designation of origin, the values linked to it and, in 2021, also the tourist, gastronomic and cultural jewels of each territory. “This virtual initiative, which we hope to be able to carry out in person next year, seeks to thank the work of all those who form this great family, winegrowers, wineries, tasters, Horeca channel, consumers, etc.”, says President Lara Da Silva, “because only by working together, side by side, we will come out stronger from this health, social and economic crisis that we are living”.
This initiative has also contemplated the realization of a raffle on social networks, in which the participants had to comment on the social profiles of Movimiento Vino D.O., through the hashtag #VinoDOJoya, and saying what other gem of its environment, besides the wine with D.O., it was essential to know (emblematic places, natural spaces, museums, monuments, typical dishes, etc.)
The D.O. Wine Movement Day was held for the first time in 2017 with the aim of revaluing wine with designation of origin and, in this edition, also represents the support of the CECRV (Spanish Conference of Wine Regulatory Councils) to designations of origin, winemakers and winemakers.
