The alternative activities, organized by the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Monterrei, to commemorate the celebration of the Monterrei Wine Fair have reached 100% occupancy.
Throughout the last days, activities such as training actions in viticulture or tastings have covered all the places available initially, even having a waiting list to participate in them. “The initial expectations have been met, so we are very satisfied, because these were actions aimed at the final public, the consumer, and during all the activities we have verified that they are proactive, asking about elaborations, varieties or history”, acknowledges the president of the Regulatory Council, Lara Da Silva, “in fact throughout this morning we have received numerous calls from participants in the activities, demanding information to acquire the red and white wines that are produced in the denomination”.
Among the public attending these activities, as well as residents of the region, there have also been participants from other places in the country, such as Valencia, Madrid, the Basque Country, Castile and Leon, Catalonia and, of course, Galicia. “For us it has been satisfying to hear how many attendees indicated that they enjoyed consuming Monterrei wines in their places of origin, even requesting them from our own wineries, and that the information received in our activities allowed them to expand the list of wines that they taste in a habitual way, “stresses the president.
The alternative calendar of the Monterrei Wine Fair has included activities such as a theoretical-practical day of digitalization in viticulture, in this case aimed at professionals in the wine sector, as well as tastings that have allowed to discover the aging potential of the wines of Monterrei, the harmonies between fruits and the white and red of the denomination, or the visit of the Tourist Train of the Route of the Wine Monterrei. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the drawing of wine cases will take place, among all the participants of the #BrindoconDOMonterrei contest, and will be communicated through the social networks Facebook and Instagram (platforms in which he promoted the realization of this contest). “It has been sad for the whole sector to suspend, for the second consecutive year, the Wine Fair, but at least this year we have not been left with a bad taste in the mouth, because we have had the opportunity, even in small groups, to be next to our consumers, we thank them for having taken us into account not only as a destination for the interior but also as a playful alternative this weekend, “concludes the president.
