The Association of Sommeliers of Galicia Gallaecia has held the final tasting of the contest “Gallaecia Awards”, where eleven wines from the D.O. Monterrei have been awarded.
The D.O. Monterrei presented to this edition a total of 48 samples, 21 red and 27 white, belonging to the vintages 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Of the 72 references recognised in this competition, 11 belong to the denomination:

In this edition of the contest “Distinciones Gallaecia”, which has turned 22, 641 wines and distillates of all DD.OO. of Galicia. In addition, 14 tasting panels have been assembled, consisting of 85 tasters from all over Galicia, accompanied by sommeliers and technicians from Zamora, Toro, Ribera del Duero and Rioja.
The tasters who participated in the final tasting of “Distinciones Gallaecia” were:

• Pablo Vidal (Member of the D.O. Valdeorras qualification panel).
