The Regulatory Council, continuing its commitment to the promotion and business development of wineries and their wines, has organized a visit by a delegation of Catalan prescriptors.
Six professionals have participated in the event, including Anna Vicens (president of the Catalan Association of Sommeliers), Frédéric Galtier (CMB ambassador/magazine writer for France and Belgium), Laura Morales (chief wine and restaurant editor), Ramón Francàs (wine journalist of La Vanguardia), Ruth Troyano (journalist specialized in oenological tourism) and Xavier Nolla (director of EnoAula and activities of Barcelona Wine Week).
Among the activities they have been part of are three wine tunnels (‘Valles’, ‘Añadas eméritas’ and ‘Variedades’) and a visit to the Xan Preto cave winery. In addition, these specialized journalists have visited five wineries of the denomination (Daniel Fernández, Terras do Cigarrón, Triay, Ladairo and Gargalo), where they have discovered their vineyards, facilities and wines more characteristic.
“This is the third initiative of these characteristics carried out this year, and as in previous ones, it has been a success, since it has allowed us to show on this occasion the harvest and the processes of collection and elaboration related to it”, says President Jonatás Gago. “In addition, with these actions we teach our history and tradition of wine, soil-climatic characteristics, grape varieties or typology of wines, as well as the work done by the five wineries participating in this promotional initiative”.
