Tomorrow, August 27, the harvest season begins in the territory protected under the Designation of Origin Monterrei.
The first winery to start collecting grapes, in 2023, will be Francisco Pérez Diéguez located in the town of Mandín (Verín).
About the D.O Monterrei
Monterrei is one of the five Galician wine designations of origin. It covers the municipalities of Verín, Monterrei, Vilardevós, Riós, Oímbra and Castrelo do Val. It consists of 28 wineries. The vineyards of this D.O occupy a total of 691 hectares of territory in which 362 winegrowers work.
