The city of San Sebastian has witnessed the latest promotional activity of the Denomination of Origin Monterrei, which has brought together fifty professionals in the distribution sector and channel Horeca.
This initiative aimed to raise awareness of the wines produced in the denomination, strengthen the brand image and promote direct marketing, among other issues. Representatives of restaurants such as Arzak, Akelarre, Mirador de Ulía, Bailara Restaurant, Galerna Jan Edan, Rekondo, Iñigo Lavado, Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra or Mikel Bengoaparticipated in this event. Also members of the Asociación de Empresarios de Hostelería, El Diario Vasco, Cofradía Vasca de Gastronomía or Escuela Superior de Hostelería de Bilbao, among others.
In this promotional action in addition to tasting the whites and reds made in the denomination, attendees were able to know the peculiarities of this wine territory, such as soil and climate characteristics, wine typologies or wine tradition. The wines of the following wineries were present: Ladairo, Pazo das Tapias, Gargalo, Castro de Lobarzán, José Luis Gómez Ibáñez (Valderello), Crego e Monaguillo, Terras do Cigarrón, Terrae Monterrei (Adegas Terrae), Pazo Blanco Núñez (Tapias Mariñán), Fragas do Lecer, Manuel Guerra Justo (Vía Arxéntea), Abeledos, Pazo de Valdeconde, Tabú, Franco Basalo, Alba Al-Bar (Daniel Fernández), Trasdovento, Fausto Rivero Pardo (Quinta Soutullo) and Manuel Vázquez Losada.
“San Sebastián is one of the unchanged cities in our calendar of promotional initiatives, since we always have a high level of professionals in the hospitality and restaurant sector, What is key to maintain the market and open new marketing channels”, highlights the president of C.R.D.O. Monterrei, Lara Da Silva. He also adds that “in fact according to the market data offered by Nielsen, San Sebastián is part of one of the areas that Monterrei must take care of since there is already a critical mass of consumption, and it is important for us to continue working to grow in market share”.
