The C.R.D.O. Monterrei and CaixaBank have signed an agreement with the aim of facilitating access to credit for members of this group and boosting the competitiveness of their sector. The agreement has been signed by the president of the Regulatory Council, Lara Da Silva, and by the director of area of CaixaBank in the province of Ourense, Begoña Abraldes.
CaixaBank will make available to winemakers a wide portfolio of products and services designed to meet the needs of their activity, such as financing for the planting of new vineyards and credits to cover the expenses of agricultural campaigns. The entity has included in its offer specific insurance solutions, machinery renting and support lines for the internationalization of wineries.
In the course of the event, Lara Da Silva has indicated that “With this agreement, we seek to find new advantageous financial products and new collaborators that allow our agents to focus on what really matters: the sale of our quality product. And that gets from a tranquility and financial confidence”. On the other hand, the representative of CaixaBank recalled the closeness that the entity wants to maintain with the primary sector of Ourense, in which wine production stands out as one of its main activities. According to Abraldes “we want producers and winemakers to have a value proposal that allows them to meet all the needs that arise in their activity”. “This agreement”, he added, “expresses in a certain way our willingness to accompany winemakers to strengthen their competitiveness after a complicated period due to a pandemic”.
From today, CaixaBank will make available to all members of the D.O. its staff in Verín and agricultural specialists. CaixaBank’s specialized managers have proven experience in operations and resources for the primary sector by working with numerous companies and self-employed farmers.
